a new season.

and then, one morning, the air was crisp
and just like summer turned into fall
slowly at first and then all at once
life changed

friends moved away
long-loved apartments were given up
new paths were taken

all while the memories were still so clear
like the feeling of sand between her toes still felt real
and even though she loved summer and all these memories
she was ready for a new season to start.
